We are pleased to announce that the 2024 CAHPI National Annual Conference presented by Carson Dunlop will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia from September 6 - 8, 2024.
The 2024 CAHPI National Home Inspectors' Conference program will offer relevant and exciting presentations and discussions. As a sneak peek, the CAHPI Conference Planning committee are pursuing a variety of topics to support your career and knowledge development. Topics currently being pursued include Septic inspections, Water Quality & Testing, Networking Skills, Financial Planning, Hazardous Materials, Foundations, Crawlspace Inspections, all you need to know about Roofing and much more! Favourite speakers from previous years will join us again to offer more insight into the home inspection industry.
Bill Carr, Award-Winning Comedian & Motivational Speaker is confirmed as our Opening Keynote Speaker. Bill Carr is known as an artist, an actor, humorist, writer, and speaker. For over 30 years, Bill has been helping people laugh at what’s trivial while helping them think deeply about what counts.
We will also offer our registrants the opportunity to debate hot-topic issues with your peers and participate in interactive discussions that will introduce you to best practices from across Canada! Through the educational sessions and networking opportunities, we want to ensure you can apply what you learn and be more effective in your work.

To describe and clearly report to our clients the Who, What, Where, When and Why is a crucial and key component of our jobs as home inspectors. This condensed Defect Recognition session will outline and help inspectors, both new and veteran, to identify the top 10 Deficiencies found by home inspectors from across Canada. The list will include items relating to plumbing, roofing, electrical, heating and cooling, structure and the exterior and interior components of the average Canadian residential home.

Home inspectors at the beginning of their career will benefit from gaining a solid understanding of the expectations and applications of the Standards. More experienced inspectors will benefit from a fresh look at the most up-to-date home inspection Standard of Practice in the industry. After all, if you’ve been doing the same thing for a decade or two, your inspection practices and reports are probably out of date! All participants will have a chance to participate and share in this interactive session.

These sessions will offer active learning approaches where individuals gain knowledge and skills through direct experience and practice with knowledgeable experts leading the way!
Registration options include one full day Defect Recognition Course or one or both half day courses: CAHPI Standards of Practice & Report Writing and/or the Horizon Inspection Advantage presented by Carson Dunlop. MRCs will be provided to all attendees.
