How to become a member
To become a member of CAHPI, an inspector must meet rigorous professional and educational requirements followed by a review. They must also adhere to the Association's Code of Ethics which demands fairness and impartiality towards clients.
As a member of a CAHPI you receive on-going benefits of membership provided to you by CAHPI.
There are two CAHPI membership designations:
National Certificate Holder®
Registered Home Inspector (RHI)®
ARE YOU A PRACTICING HOME INSPECTOR?
Inspectors with any of the following automatically qualifies you as a National Certificate Holder®....
- Former CAHPI provincial association member (NCH & RHI)
- CPBC licence
- Service Alberta licence
- NHICC National Home Inspector (NHI)
If yes, send in your proof of membership or licence and you can start using your designation(s) and CAHPI logo.

If you are an experienced practicing inspector with 500 inspections and five (5) years providing residential home inspections and wish to join CAHPI; the Certification Board will review your application to grant your membership equivalency.
Earn the National Certificate Holder® and Registered Home Inspector (RHI)® designations:
- NCH - Achieve a passing score for the CAHPI National Exam (CNE)
- NCH - Inspection report and contract verification by mentor
- RHI - Upgrade application and fee (members with NCH designation)
- RHI - Signed RHI affidavit form
- RHI - List of 250 inspections

Join CAHPI Today! New inspectors will begin as a Candidate member.
New home inspectors or students will earn the National Certificate Holder® designation by:
- Achieving a passing score for the CAHPI National Exam (CNE)
- Completion of 10 mentored inspections
- Report verification by mentor
