REGISTERED HOME INSPECTOR® AND RHI® CERTIFICATION MARK

 LICENCE AGREEMENT

As a holder of CAHPI’s Registered Home Inspector and RHI designation, you qualify to license the REGISTERED HOME INSPECTOR® and RHI® certification marks (“the Certification Marks”).  This Agreement outlines the license terms under which CAHPI authorizes you to use the Certification Marks in Canada. 

1. You acknowledge that CAHPI owns the entire right, title and interest to the Certification Marks.
    
2. CAHPI hereby grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, fully revocable license to use the Certification Marks in association with the provision of home and property inspection services for a one-year term, commencing on the date that you are granted the REGISTERED HOME INSPECTOR and RHI designations.   This agreement and the license granted herein will be renewed automatically every year for a one-year term upon payment of your annual CAHPI membership dues and provided you are otherwise a CAHPI member in good-standing, and in compliance with all of the requirements and standards associated with the REGISTERED HOME INSPECTOR and RHI designations.
    
3. You agree to adhere to all CAHPI membership requirements in the provision of home and property inspection services, and specifically those membership requirements for individuals who hold the REGISTERED HOME INSPECTOR and RHI designations.  All CAHPI membership requirements are published on the CAHPI website (www.cahpi.ca).  CAHPI reserves the right to amend and/or update such membership requirements from time to time.
    
4. You expressly acknowledge and agree that CAHPI may monitor the services provided by you in association with the Certification Marks and that, in the event CAHPI determines that the quality of those services do not meet the standards set by CAHPI, CAHPI may terminate the license agreement upon thirty (30) days’ notice.  You agree that a final and binding determination with respect to the termination of this license shall be made by the CAHPI Board of Directors. 
    
5. Any notice of termination shall be provided to you in writing at the address of record in the CAHPI membership directory.  It is your responsibility to keep your contact information up-to-date.  Upon termination of this license, you shall immediately cease to use or display the Certification Marks, and the designations “Registered Home Inspector” and “RHI” for any purpose whatsoever.
    
6. You agree to display the Certification Marks in accordance with the following guidelines:
   a. The Certification Marks may not be altered or modified in any way;
   
   b. The Certification Marks must be printed and displayed in the digital or print format provided by CAHPI to ensure that it is properly displayed;
   
   c. The Certification Marks may only be used by an individual who has met the criteria to hold the REGISITERED HOME INSPECTOR and RHI designation; it may not be used by a company, partnership or other corporate structure, nor may it be used as a trade name, business name, domain name or otherwise. 
   d. The Certification Marks should be placed near your name; however, there should be enough clear space that it is not connected or part of any personalization, degree, or other identifier. 
    
7. You agree that CAHPI may revise any of the terms of this license agreement, in its sole discretion, upon providing you with thirty (30) days written notice of such revisions. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you may terminate the license by providing CAHPI with written notice of termination within ten (10) days of being sent written notice of the revised license terms by CAHPI.
    
8. This Agreement shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.  You hereby submit and consent to the non-exclusive and preferential jurisdiction of the courts located in the City of Ottawa, in the Province of Ontario.

NATIONAL CERTIFICATE HOLDER® CERTIFICATION MARK

 LICENCE AGREEMENT

As a holder of CAHPI’s National Certificate Holder designation, you qualify to license the NATIONAL CERTIFICATE HOLDER® certification mark (“the Certification Mark”).  This Agreement outlines the license terms under which CAHPI authorizes you to use the Certification Mark in Canada. 

1. You acknowledge that CAHPI owns the entire right, title and interest to the Certification Mark.
    
2. CAHPI hereby grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, fully revocable license to use the Certification Mark in association with the provision of home and property inspection services for a one-year term, commencing on the date that you are granted the NATIONAL CERTIFICATE HOLDER designation.   This agreement and the license granted herein will be renewed automatically every year for a one-year term upon payment of your annual CAHPI membership dues and provided you are otherwise a CAHPI member in good-standing, and in compliance with all of the requirements and standards associated with the NATIONAL CERTIFICATE HOLDER designation.
