Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that has been added to many different building materials. It can be encountered in many forms in buildings and on construction projects. Improper disturbance can result in asbestos exposures to workers or building occupants. This continuing education seminar reviews the major concerns with asbestos today and is designed to provide you with the knowledge to understand the history of asbestos use, common type of asbestos-containing materials, associated hazards, and regulatory requirements.

Presenter: Jason Combe Director of Operations, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northwest Ontario, Pinchin

Mr. Combe is a Director of Operations for Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northwest Ontario and has been employed by Pinchin Ltd. since 2005.
As Director of Operations, Jason Combe brings over 15 years of experience in hazardous materials assessment, control and management to the regions broad range of clients. His unique background and skill sets give him an advantage in offering clients problem-solving strategies that combine in-depth knowledge with a hands-on, practical approach. A member of the Pinchin team since 2005, Jason has provided extensive consulting and inspection services for a wide range of projects, ranging from short-term abatements to large-scale office complex, health care and education facility operations. Prior to joining Pinchin, Jason was with a contracting firm specializing in hazardous materials remediation. As a contractor working on numerous projects in the residential, industrial and commercial fields, he specialized in asbestos remediation while also handling and removing other hazardous materials including moulds, lead and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) light ballasts. Jason also gained invaluable experience with hazardous materials and their controls during his early career as a nuclear, biological and chemical non-commissioned officer with the United States Military.
